Our new album “Love! Lust! Longing… Loss – An Elizabethan Romp” is now available! Just in time for Holiday gift giving. You may download it right now for $9.99 at www.DigStation.com/TheGoodPennyworths. (We like DigStation — we keep 100% of the proceeds, which is very helpful for a not-for-profit organization like ours!) The CD features ballads and lute songs from our popular concert of the same name, with selections by John Dowland, Thomas Campion, Philip Rosseter, Thomas Morley and many other Elizabethan-era composers. We’ll be selling CDs after our holiday concert on Dec. 19th, of course. CDs and downloads are also available on iTunes, Amazon, cdbaby.com, and other online music retailers. All net proceeds from the sales of CDs go directly back into the organization to support new concerts and touring initiatives. Buy one for yourself and one for a friend!

Good Pennyworths will be among the featured artists at the Gotham Early Music Scene’s sampler concert on Sunday, January 10th, presented to attendees of the Association of Performing Arts Presenters’ Annual Conference and open to the general public. We’ll be doing a 30 minute set at 9pm. Other Early Music groups and soloists will be performing as well — a great opportunity to see a smorgasbord of Early Music styles and instruments. At Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, in the chapel.
In addition, we’ll be doing a 20 minute set in a showcase at the APAP Conference itself (New York Hilton) on Saturday, January 9th at 8:35pm.

Save the Date! On Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 at 4:30pm, we’ll be performing “A Pennyworth of Christmas” — a collection of Medieval wassail songs, carols from the 14th – 19th centuries, and modern favorites given a Renaissance twist — at Advent Lutheran Church. Corner of West 93rd St and Broadway in Manhattan.
Take an hour out of your frantic shopping to discover some little-known gems, hear new takes on familiar carols, sit and reflect, even find a little unexpected meaning in the stories behind the music. Suggested Donation $20, $10 for students and seniors.
Many of our NYC fans have told us that this concert is their favorite so far. “It really touched me. I found myself with tears in my eyes at several points,” said friend L.C.
